The Fort Gibson, OK. Genealogical & Historical Society
THE FT. GIBSON, OK.
GENEALOGICAL & HISTORICAL
SOCIETY
Our Genealogical and Historical Society was founded in 1981 by a group of local citizens that were interested in discovering their own family history as well as trying to help preserve our commnuity's long and exciting history. We do this by raising money to buy books, microfilm, etc so that our members can research at our meetings. As a group we help in the local historical functions.
We meet the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. except January & August at the First United Methodist Church, corner of Blackjack and Beauregard streets, in Ft. Gibson. Our dues are $10.00/year. We try to help all members with their research. A family history book of Ft. Gibson and the surrounding areas has been published in 2000. Copies are in our library. If you would like to become a member of our Society, please fill out the application below and submit it to the Ft. Gibson Genealogical and Historical Society, 508 W. Walnut. Ft. Gibson, OK. 74434. Marcia Elliott, President (918) 478-3345.
